Ivoclar Digital: digital expertise under one roof

Ivoclar Digital is the new category brand from Ivoclar Vivadent. This new brand comprises a comprehensive portfolio of CAD/CAM products and optimized digital processes – also for dental practices. These are the components of Ivoclar Digital that are important to know for you as a dentist:

1. Materials: zirconium oxide now also for chairside applications

For dentists, the IPS e.max system will be enhanced with the versatile ZirCAD block. The block will be available in one translucency level (LT – Low Translucency) and two sizes: C 17 and B 45. This makes IPS e.max ZirCAD also suitable for chairside applications. The blocks involve a quick sintering process, which allows monolithic and esthetically pleasing zirconia restorations to be created directly in the dental practice using an efficient procedure. IPS e.max ZirCAD is known for its high flexural strength and high fracture toughness. It allows the fabrication of restorations with considerably lower wall thickness (posterior crown: minimum 0.6 mm, anterior crown: minimum 0.4 mm). As a result, teeth can be prepared according to minimally invasive principles and restorations can be cemented conventionally.

2. New milling machine also for dental practices: PrograMill One

PrograMill One is the world’s smallest 5-axis milling machine. It combines industrial production quality with high precision and modern design. In the innovative 5-axis turn-milling technology the block which is being processed moves around the tool. The infeed remains constant; the tool never leaves the workpiece. This enables short milling times while keeping tool wear low. Various validated machining strategies are available for different materials and indications. The machine features wireless technology and can be placed anywhere within the dental practice and operated via an app from a tablet or smartphone. PrograMill One is coordinated with the scanners and design solutions from 3Shape. The unit has been developed for milling IPS e.max in particular.

All-rounder for dentists: Programat CS4

The new Programat CS4 is a multifunctional furnace for the dental practice. It is ideally suited for sintering zirconium oxide (ZrO₂) materials such as IPS e.max ZirCAD. Fast sintering processes allow zirconium oxide restorations to be directly manufactured in the practice in a single session. In addition, the furnace can be used as a glazing and crystallization furnace for IPS e.max CAD and IPS Empress CAD restorations. Both preset and individual programs for third-party materials are available (open system).

Bluephase Style 20i: powerful LED

Bluephase Style 20i is a cordless high-performance curing light that combines maximum light output with extremely short curing times. Equipped with the Polywave technology of the third, and latest, LED generation, the powerful new curing light allows all light-curing dental materials in the wavelength range from 385 to 515 nm to be polymerized rapidly and without restriction.
