A few days ago Ivoclar Vivadent has launched the innovative metal-ceramic IPS Style. What is innovative about this material? And what are the individual components that make up this new ceramic system?

The first dental ceramic with oxyapatite

IPS Style is the first metal-ceramic material to contain patented oxyapatite. Oxyapatite reflects a large amount of incident light, which results in an in-depth effect. As the content of oxyapatite varies from the opaquer to the incisal material, the degree of translucency can be controlled.

Flexibility in many aspects

IPS Style offers a wide selection of materials and a large scope of freedom with regard to the choice of application technique to best match your personal preferences and the given indication. This enables you to realize any kind of restoration - from fast and easy to highly esthetic and elaborate. IPS Style Ceram and IPS Style Ceram One allow you to veneer metal frameworks in the classic CTE range using a single- or multiple-layer technique. IPS Style also comprises suitable materials for soft-tissue reconstructions.

Efficiency and choice in the lab

The IPS Style Ceram layering materials are applied in the same way as conventional metal-ceramic materials. The material impresses with its convenient modelling properties and excellent stability during application. This makes IPS Style suitable for both beginners and experienced users. The new metal-ceramic materials are compatible with all popular alloys in the indicated CTE range. They can be applied to frameworks manufactured using a digital method or a conventional analog method.

A suitable range of components for every "Style"

"One Style": If you choose the one-layer technique, you only require IPS Style Ceram Powder Opaquer and the IPS Style Ceram One single-layer materials – for a fast, straightforward layering procedure.

"Standard-Style": If adequate space is available, use IPS Style Ceram Powder Opaquer, IPS Style Ceram Dentin and IPS Style Ceram Incisal to create esthetic restorations that can be individually characterized. If only little space is available, 18 Deep Dentin shades assist you in achieving impressive natural effects.

"Individual Style": A range of 23 Impulse materials and numerous additional materials allow you to create highly esthetic restorations with virtually limitless combinations of shades and tones using an individual layering technique. These materials afford you the greatest amount of creativity and unique design possibilities.

"Gingiva Style": Eleven IPS Style Ceram Gingiva and Intensive Gingiva shades, combined with the IPS Style Ceram Gingiva Opaquer Pink, allow you achieve an optimum reconstruction of the “pink esthetics”. The Gingiva shades are matched to the Ivoclar Vivadent Gingiva Solution range of shades.
